Why do the standard ones fail?
The standard mounts are designed such that the drivers side rubber is compressed and the passenger side rubber is stretched when you accelerate.
As a result the hotside mounts tear through over and over on many hard driven MX5's.
These engine mounts provide improved gearshifts due to less drivetrain movement and also more direct feeling throttle response over the standard rubber unit.
